The organic food brand is broadening distribution across shots, prepared meals and snacks, positioning everyday wellness as a practical food-and-beverage proposition.
Urban Remedy is expanding its national range with three products that connect prepared food and everyday wellness: the UR Calmer Wellness Shot, Blissful Belly Bowl and Matcha Energy Bar. The Richmond, California-based company introduced the products around National Food Is Medicine Day, observed annually on September 14, as part of its Food Is Healing philosophy. Urban Remedy describes the move as an effort to make nutritious foods and beverages more accessible through national distribution.
The expansion spans several consumption occasions rather than a single product category. The UR Calmer Wellness Shot is positioned as a daily drink for calm and balance, while the Blissful Belly Bowl extends the brand’s ready-to-eat meal offer with fermented ingredients. The Matcha Energy Bar adds a portable snack and meal-replacement option to a portfolio that includes freshly prepared meals, refrigerated snacks, cold-pressed juices and wellness shots.
The UR Calmer shot combines 80 milligrams of magnesium bisglycinate and 50 milligrams of L-theanine with organic blood orange, orange, pineapple and lemon. The Blissful Belly Bowl contains kale, quinoa, chickpeas, vegan cashew cheese and miso dressing, alongside Golden Sauerkraut and Red Beet and Cabbage Kraut. Urban Remedy says the Matcha Energy Bar contains 9 grams of protein, 3 grams of fibre and 6 grams of sugar, and is made with cacao butter, matcha, coconut, nuts, seeds, cinnamon and greens.
Availability is being expanded unevenly across the range. The UR Calmer Wellness Shot is described as nationally available, while the Blissful Belly Bowl is now available on the East Coast. The Matcha Energy Bar remains available in California and is scheduled to reach consumers across the country in the autumn. Urban Remedy’s broader distribution includes more than 800 retail locations, including Whole Foods Market, Andronico’s and Raley’s, with selected beverages also available through Ralph’s and King Soopers.
The strategy illustrates how Urban Remedy is translating a food-as-wellness proposition into distinct formats for different daily routines. Founder and Chief Product Officer Neka Pasquale said the company’s goal is to make everyday wellness more accessible through foods and beverages distributed nationally. As the brand extends its reach beyond its existing retail base, its product mix gives the Food Is Healing message a concrete presence across drinks, meals and snacks.
