The Illinois repair company’s free online tool now accepts up to three images and gives homeowners a preliminary assessment before a service visit.
Firstline Garage Door Repair has added AI-assisted photo analysis to its free online diagnostic tool. The update gives homeowners a way to investigate visible problems and get a sense of potential repair costs before they book a technician.
Homeowners can upload up to three images of the door and affected components and add a description of what happened. Firstline processes the images through its server and returns a report in the browser. The report describes what the images show, suggests possible causes and outlines next steps. It gives a price range when the evidence points to a likely fault and flags what remains unclear when the photos are inconclusive.
The existing Quick Diagnosis questionnaire gives users another way to describe a fault. It asks about symptoms such as uneven movement or an opener that runs without moving the door. Together, the two routes give homeowners a way to describe what they see or hear when discussing a repair with a service provider.
Firstline intends the English-language tool for users in the US, Canada and other markets with comparable garage door systems. Its estimates reflect US pricing, and the final diagnosis and cost may depend on an on-site inspection, local labour and the parts required. Firstline’s own repair service covers Northern Illinois.
