TIPSTER’s 13.1-mile NYC BAKERY RUN will connect 100 lottery winners with ten bakeries, including a seated pastry course at Eleven Madison Park.
TIPSTER is bringing the NYC BAKERY RUN back to New York on October 25, with 100 lottery-selected runners covering 13.1 miles and stopping at ten bakeries. The route includes Radio Bakery, La Cabra, Librae Bakery, From Lucie and other destinations, before leading participants into Eleven Madison Park for a seated pastry course. The format places the city’s bakery culture inside a shared endurance event, broadening the idea of how food discovery can be experienced.
The free half marathon is structured around eating rather than competition. Participants will move together in three pace groups, with most stops offering a quick bite before the route continues; at Eleven Madison Park, runners will be escorted into the dining room before regular lunch service begins. The restaurant’s chef de cuisine, Dominique Roy, said the setting allows its pastry team to be experienced outside the traditional tasting-menu format.
This year’s route also brings together established names and a new addition. Librae Bakery returns, while Altbau Bakery joins the programme as the project from Tartine cofounder Chad Robertson. Radio Bakery, La Cabra, From Lucie, L’Appartement 4F, Hani’s Bakery, Elbow Bread and Saison Bakery complete the ten-stop line-up. Participation is free, with places awarded in pairs through a lottery.
The scale of demand was demonstrated by the inaugural event, which drew more than 17,000 entries for 100 places in 2025. TIPSTER founder Simon Evers described the run as part of a wider interest in experiences centred on distinctive everyday foods, from pastries and bread to pizza and bagels, rather than only formal restaurant reservations. In that sense, the event functions as both a day out for selected participants and a concentrated showcase for independent bakeries.
Sign-ups remain open through October 14 at 11:59 p.m. ET, with winners due to be notified on October 15, 2026. The event is scheduled for Sunday, October 25, 2026, and runners will receive access to a route combining quick bakery stops with an unusually formal dining-room interlude. For TIPSTER, the model offers a restrained way to direct attention towards New York’s baking scene while making the city itself part of the experience.
