A new Stowe weekend combines practical entertaining workshops, tastings and a formal dinner, positioning hospitality programming as part of the resort stay.
The Lodge at Spruce Peak will host its first annual Holiday Entertaining Weekend Retreat in Stowe, Vermont, on December 5–6, 2025, bringing together wreath making, charcuterie styling, tastings and a dress-up dinner. The programme extends the role of a ski resort beyond accommodation and recreation by making holiday hosting itself the central experience. It is designed for guests who want practical instruction alongside a seasonal getaway, with activities staged across the hotel’s dining and event spaces.
The weekend begins on Friday, December 5, with a 5:00–6:00 p.m. Champagne hour and holiday hosting question-and-answer session at Tipsy Trout. Vermont Wine Merchants will sponsor a tasting featuring Laurent Perrier Champagne, while artisanal cheeses from Jasper Hill Farms will provide the pairing. Priced at $45 per person, the opening session sets the tone for a programme that combines hospitality education with food and drink.
Saturday’s schedule moves from craft to table presentation. Creg Oosterhart will lead a 9:00 a.m. wreath-making workshop priced at $125 per person, followed by a 11:00 a.m. charcuterie and cheese board styling session with Jasper Hill Farms expert Zoe Brickley, priced at $45. A 1:30 p.m. tablescape workshop will cover seasonal greenery, candlelight and layering techniques, also at $45 per person.
The programme concludes with “Home for the Holidays”, a 6:30–9:30 p.m. dinner party at Tipsy Trout hosted by Executive Chef Sean Blomgren. The five-course meal includes beverage pairings and styled tables, and costs $150 per person plus 21% gratuity. Rather than presenting the resort solely as a base for winter activities, the format uses dining, design and instruction to create a more structured occasion around the stay.
The Lodge at Spruce Peak offers guestrooms, studios, suites and penthouses, while the wider Spruce Peak community provides access to dining, outdoor activities and seasonal programming. Its official accommodation information describes suites ranging from junior to three-bedroom layouts, supporting the retreat’s appeal as an overnight experience rather than a standalone class schedule. The weekend illustrates how destination properties can use focused, time-limited programming to give familiar seasonal rituals a defined setting and commercial shape.
