The fast-food chain is returning its Monopoly promotion with app-based gameplay, expanded rewards and high-value prizes designed to simplify participation.
McDonald’s USA, LLC is bringing Monopoly back to McDonald’s restaurants in the United States from October 6 for a limited time, combining the familiar peel-off game pieces with gameplay completed in the McDonald’s App. The promotion offers instant food rewards, loyalty points, property-collection prizes and Chance Card plays, including opportunities to win cash, vehicles, travel and other prizes. The format reflects a broader effort to make a long-running restaurant promotion easier to enter while preserving its physical connection to menu packaging.
The 2026 game centres on a single peel-and-scan journey rather than multiple ways to enter. Participants register in the McDonald’s App, opt in to Rewards and pre-register for the game before ordering eligible items, then peel stickers from qualifying packaging and scan the pieces in the app. Eligible products span breakfast, lunch and dinner, including the Quarter Pounder with Cheese, Egg McMuffin, large fries and large hot and cold drinks.
Each peeled piece leads to one of four prize opportunities. Instant-win options include McDonald’s food and between 1,500 and 7,000 MyMcDonald’s Reward Points, while collecting property combinations can lead to prizes such as Carnival Cruise Line vacations, a 2027 Jeep Cherokee, Polaris vehicles and trips to Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. The Chance Card Game includes brand gift cards, $50,000 contributions towards a home down payment or college debt paydown, and cash prizes ranging from $10,000 to $1 million.
The promotion also adds a digital incentive around ordering behaviour. Until November 1, registered players who purchase eligible items through the McDonald’s App or use a Rewards code at a kiosk, counter or drive-thru can receive bonus Chance Card gameplay for each qualifying item. The official terms state that the game is open to eligible residents of the 50 states and Washington, D.C., with entry, prize-claim and gameplay deadlines extending into November.
For McDonald’s, the campaign links a recognisable in-restaurant ritual with the company’s loyalty platform, allowing physical game pieces to serve as the entry point for digital rewards and prize play. The structure also gives the promotion several levels of participation, from immediate food offers and points to property collections and larger Chance Card prizes. By retaining the peel while reducing the mechanics around it, McDonald’s is positioning Monopoly as both a seasonal restaurant promotion and an app-led engagement programme.
