A new ATM donation option links casino guests’ unused voucher change with Española Pathways Shelter’s work supporting people facing homelessness and housing instability.
Ohkay Casino Hotel has partnered with Española Pathways Shelter on an ATM donation programme that allows guests to direct remaining change from eligible gaming vouchers to local shelter services. The option began on June 1, 2026, at the property’s Everi ATMs, giving guests the choice to donate unused change when cashing out TITO, or Ticket-In, Ticket-Out, vouchers. The arrangement turns a routine cash-out decision into a small-scale fundraising channel for an organisation serving Northern New Mexico.
The partnership is focused on people and families experiencing homelessness or housing instability in the Española Valley and surrounding communities. Española Pathways Shelter provides emergency shelter, transitional housing, case management and supportive services, while also connecting clients with housing resources, healthcare services, food assistance, treatment programmes and longer-term support. The release presents the initiative within that existing network of community services rather than as a standalone hospitality promotion.
Guests can participate by selecting the donation option while cashing out eligible TITO vouchers at the casino’s Everi ATMs, and they may increase the amount if they choose. The programme is designed to accept the small balances that can remain after a voucher is redeemed, although the casino also says guests can make larger voluntary contributions. Funds may help support shelter services, housing assistance, food support and other essential resources, according to the announcement.
The initiative illustrates how a casino property can place community giving inside an established customer transaction rather than rely only on separate fundraising events. Ohkay Casino Hotel General Manager Travis Garlick said the partnership was intended to give guests a convenient way to contribute, while Assistant General Manager Ken Carnahan said the programme could also raise awareness of homelessness and available resources. Those comments frame the ATM feature as both a funding mechanism and a point of public engagement.
For Española Pathways Shelter, the arrangement adds a new route through which visitors to the property can support its work. Executive Director and CEO Dena Moscola said the collaboration would strengthen the organisation’s ability to provide shelter and support services to people working towards stability and housing. Ohkay Casino Hotel described the programme as part of its ongoing commitment to local organisations, leaving its practical value tied to how consistently guests choose to convert spare change into donations.
