The earbuds bring Bose tuning and adaptive noise cancellation together with translation on compatible Motorola phones.
Motorola has announced the moto buds ultra 27, combining Bose audio technology with a live translation feature that plays translated speech through the earbuds. Translation runs on a compatible Motorola phone with the built-in Translate app. Supported languages and availability vary by device and region.
The earbuds use Bose SoundDesign tuning and Bose QuietControl active noise cancellation. An 11 mm dynamic driver and a separate balanced armature share the work of reproducing sound, while Transparency Mode lets in ambient noise. Compatible Motorola phones also support Dolby Atmos and Dolby Head Tracking.
The translation feature gives the earbuds a role in face-to-face conversations as well as calls and listening. Each bud has three microphones and a dedicated voice pickup unit. Head gestures let wearers accept or decline calls with a nod or shake once they enable the feature in the Moto Buds app.
Motorola rates the earbuds for up to eight hours of playback per charge and up to 37 hours with the charging case under optimal conditions. The buds carry an IP57 rating, and the case supports wireless charging. Motorola announced a rollout to select markets in the weeks following the launch, with a starting price of €199 for the range.
