The Elemental Lip Serum combines skincare ingredients, cosmetic colour and clinical testing as the company applies its longevity positioning to a frequently overlooked facial area.
Elm Biosciences has introduced the Elemental Lip Serum, a $45 balm-oil hybrid designed to address the visible signs of lip ageing while providing hydration and soft-focus colour. The product comes in clear and three neutral shades — Mocha, Blush and Petal — with a September 22, 2026 launch date through the company’s website and select dermatology partners. Co-founded by Martha Stewart and dermatologist Dr Dhaval Bhanusali, the skincare business is positioning the formula around what it calls lip longevity.
The product applies Elm’s longevity-skincare approach to lips, which the company describes as having an exceptionally thin barrier and virtually no oil glands. Rather than treating lip care solely as a source of temporary moisture or shine, the serum is intended to improve the appearance of volume loss, dryness and vertical lines with continued use. Its weightless, non-sticky finish is also designed to provide immediate comfort and a smoother, fuller appearance.
Developed with input from Elm’s advisory network of more than 350 dermatologists, scientists and medical researchers, the formula combines a peptide complex with Acetyl Zingerone. Elm says the antioxidant ingredient helps defend against the visible effects of environmental stressors. A deep hydration complex incorporating hyaluronic acid, shea butter and squalane is intended to cushion the lips, support their moisture barrier and improve comfort.
Elm also tested the product in a 28-day consumer perception study involving 54 women aged 35 to 65. According to the company, 85% of participants said the serum addressed the appearance of lip ageing, while 96% reported that their lips felt nourished and restored. A further 87% said the product smoothed the look of lip lines, supporting Elm’s effort to connect familiar lip-care benefits with longer-term appearance claims.
The serum broadens Elm’s interpretation of longevity skincare beyond conventional facial treatments without abandoning the colour, texture and ease of use expected from a lip product. Stewart said she wanted an everyday formula that felt attractive to wear while improving the overall appearance of her lips, while Bhanusali emphasised the area’s distinct biology and environmental exposure. For Elm Biosciences, the product turns a specialised skincare premise into a compact format spanning treatment and cosmetics.
