The Maryland beachfront hotel has joined Marriott Bonvoy and is slated for Tribute Portfolio, pairing its independent identity with a global booking and rewards platform.
Ashore Oceanfront Hotel joined the Marriott family and Marriott Bonvoy, making the Ocean City, Maryland, property bookable through Marriott.com and allowing programme members to earn and redeem points on stays. In its May 19, 2026 announcement, Ashore also reported that it would enter Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio in the coming months. The affiliation connects a locally positioned beachfront hotel with Marriott’s reservations and loyalty infrastructure while retaining the independent character associated with the collection.
The move centres on a 250-room-and-suite property overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Assawoman Bay. Ashore said all rooms have private balconies with water views, while its guest offer spans beachfront service, an outdoor pool, fitness facilities and spaces for meetings, weddings and private events. The hotel’s website also presents the property as a resort-style base for family trips, celebrations and Ocean City events.
Dining is a significant part of that positioning. The hotel named five concepts in the release: coastal restaurant Tide Room, Wahoo Beach Bar on the sand, event and gathering space The Shore Deck, indoor tavern The Taproom and café Ashore Things. The release said Tide Room received Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence in 2025 and recognition in Tripadvisor’s 2025 Travelers’ Choice Awards. Ashore also reported more than 40,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space across 14 meeting rooms.
The Marriott relationship followed renovation work at the hotel, with the release reporting further upgrades connected to the affiliation. Those projects included changes to event and banquet areas, the lobby check-in experience, café and fitness centre. Ashore’s announcement also offered 3,000 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points per night, any day of the week, for stays through the end of 2026; the hotel’s official website separately displayed the same points-per-night offer.
For Ashore, the affiliation adds a larger distribution and rewards framework to a proposition built around beachfront hospitality, dining and events. Tribute Portfolio was described in the release as Marriott’s collection of independent, full-service hotels offering locally rooted travel experiences. The combination therefore places the Ocean City property within a recognised hotel network without making standardisation the centre of its message. Its stated direction is to use Marriott’s platform while continuing to trade on its location and individual identity.
