A nationwide programme with the Texas Hotel & Lodging Association is turning hospitality security guidance into a practical operating resource for franchise teams.
G6 Hospitality has launched a nationwide hospitality safety and security programme with the Texas Hotel & Lodging Association (THLA), beginning with a session in Dallas. The programme gives franchise owners, general managers and frontline staff practical guidance on police inquiries, guest privacy, firearms policies, active shooter situations, pets, guest disturbances and de-escalation. It also addresses premises liability and insurance preparedness, placing operational safety at the centre of the economy lodging sector’s response to changing risks.
More than 100 hospitality professionals from 15 states participated in the first session, including representatives from Texas, Arkansas, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin. The breadth of attendance gives the initiative an industry-wide dimension beyond G6 Hospitality’s own franchise network. It also reflects the practical focus of the programme, which is designed for teams managing safety issues directly at hotel properties.
The curriculum was developed with THLA, legal specialists and industry best practices. Topics include guest verification, incident response, collaboration with local law enforcement, compliance requirements and procedures intended to protect businesses, employees and guests. The programme responds to risks identified by G6 Hospitality, including human trafficking, narcotics-related cases and identity fraud, while also covering the everyday situations that can escalate into operational or legal problems.
Sonal Sinha, chief executive officer of G6 Hospitality, said the seminar programme represents an investment in franchise partners’ safety, success and long-term growth. Scott Joslove, president and chief executive officer of THLA, said the training is based on real cases, legal requirements and operational realities. Together, those contributions position the initiative as a structured education effort rather than a single-property security measure.
Following the pilot workshop at G6 Hospitality’s Dallas headquarters, G6 Hospitality and THLA will roll out the seminar series across major US markets over the coming months. The programme is expected to combine in-person workshops with operational toolkits and digital learning resources, extending access to franchise teams. For G6 Hospitality, the initiative links the safety of Motel 6 and Studio 6 properties with the broader resilience of the franchise system.
