A new campaign with DJ Nic Vansteenberghe links deodorant, music and mood, reflecting a broader effort to position men’s grooming around self-expression as well as daily function.
Dove Men+Care is extending its partnership with DJ Nic Vansteenberghe through a Las Vegas promotion built around the brand’s aluminum-free Mood-Boosting Deodorant Collection. The campaign gives one fan and a guest the chance to attend Vansteenberghe’s August 16 performance, turning a conventional personal-care launch into an entertainment-driven consumer experience.
The approach reflects a broader shift in how men’s grooming products are being presented. Rather than focusing exclusively on practical benefits such as odor protection, Dove Men+Care is framing fragrance as part of mood, confidence and personal expression, with four scents associated with different feelings: Midnight with confidence, Paradise with renewal, Breeze with refreshment and Horizon with focus.
Beginning July 21, consumers can enter the promotion through collaboration posts on Dove Men+Care and Vansteenberghe’s Instagram and TikTok accounts by sharing the song they would choose to set the mood. The sweepstakes runs through July 26, with the winner receiving travel and hotel accommodations, spending money, tickets and additional experiences surrounding the Las Vegas performance.
For Dove Men+Care, the campaign also illustrates how consumer brands are increasingly extending product marketing beyond traditional advertising. Music, social media participation and an in-person event give the company multiple ways to connect an everyday grooming product with lifestyle and identity, while Vansteenberghe provides a recognizable link between the campaign’s themes of music, fitness and confidence. The strategy is less about explaining how deodorant works than about giving consumers an emotional framework for choosing among products that otherwise serve similar functional purposes.
That positioning is supported by a collection spanning Midnight, Paradise, Breeze and Horizon, each combining aluminum-free odor protection with distinct fragrance profiles. The products are currently sold through major U.S. retailers at a suggested price of $8.99, while the Las Vegas promotion provides a short-term experiential layer around the broader launch. Whether consumers embrace the language of “mood boosting” remains to be seen, but the campaign highlights how fragrance is becoming a more prominent part of the way mainstream men’s grooming brands differentiate themselves.
