The partnership brings a three-day PRCA rodeo programme to the racetrack, combining competition, music, food and fundraising for veterans’ support services.
Sam Houston Race Park is partnering with Rodeo at the Racetrack to stage a PRCA rodeo experience in Houston from November 5–7, 2026. The event will combine professional rodeo competition with live entertainment, charitable fundraising, a BBQ Cook-Off and family-friendly activities. Its central community partner will be Camp Hope, a programme of the PTSD Foundation of America serving military veterans and their families affected by combat-related post-traumatic stress.
The announcement places the rodeo within Sam Houston Race Park’s broader role as a racing, dining and entertainment venue. The park describes itself as a destination for live horse racing, simulcasting, family events and concerts, while Rodeo at the Racetrack positions its format as a combination of horse-racing venues and professional rodeo. The partnership therefore extends the racetrack’s event calendar into a related Western-sports setting without changing the venue’s underlying identity.
The weekend is scheduled to begin on Thursday evening, November 5, 2026, with a Camp Hope Gala in the Jockey Club featuring dinner, a silent auction and fundraising activities. A barrel-racing exhibition and live music are planned to follow the gala. On Friday, November 6, and Saturday, November 7, rodeo performances are scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. and include saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, team roping, barrel racing, breakaway roping and bull riding.
Additional programming is set to include the Camp Hope BBQ Cook-off on Saturday, a Vendor Village, contestant meet-and-greets, mechanical bulls, family activities and photo opportunities with Brutus, described in the release as a Brahma bull. General admission tickets were announced at prices starting at $25, with reserved, premium and VIP seating options also available; the release said tickets would go on sale August 1, 2026. The ticketing page lists the Friday and Saturday performances with gates opening at 5:00 p.m. and performances beginning at 7:00 p.m.
For Sam Houston Race Park, the partnership adds a ticketed, multi-day event that links the venue’s established entertainment operations with a national PRCA rodeo circuit. For Rodeo at the Racetrack, the Houston booking supports its stated model of working with racetrack venues to combine rodeo, live music, hospitality and community engagement. The event’s fundraising component gives the collaboration a defined charitable focus, while its range of activities is designed to serve both rodeo audiences and families.
