The Legacy Tower adds 204 rooms and 100 suites as Coushatta Casino Resort expands its hospitality offer alongside gaming, retail and cultural programming.
Coushatta Casino Resort is expanding its hospitality footprint with the Legacy Tower, an eight-storey hotel addition that brings 204 rooms, including 100 luxury suites, to its Kinder, Louisiana property. Reservations were reported as available for stays beginning May 18, 2026, while the resort scheduled a grand-opening ceremony for 10:00 am on Friday, May 15, 2026. The project is significant because it takes the resort’s total room inventory beyond 1,000 and extends an existing casino-led destination into a larger accommodation proposition. The announcement was issued by Coushatta Casino Resort on April 13, 2026.
The tower is directly connected to what the release describes as the largest gaming floor in the Lake Charles region, linking the new rooms to the resort’s established entertainment and gambling offer. Coushatta’s wider property includes three hotels, live poker, bingo and sports betting, as well as the Dream Pool and Lazy River, entertainment facilities and a golf course. The expansion therefore places the new accommodation within a broader resort campus rather than presenting it as a standalone hotel project.
The Legacy Tower’s design combines prominent arrival features with references to the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana. Its exterior includes a seven-storey LED screen, a redesigned porte cochère and a new connecting lobby, while the interior architecture and artwork incorporate elements inspired by tribal basketry and cultural storytelling. The release says the tower forms part of the ongoing “Bigger, Better Coushatta” expansion, which also includes modernised accommodation, upgraded gaming experiences, a centralised lobby, retail shopping and a new Starbucks Café.
The announcement also frames the project as an economic and cultural investment. Nate Tanner, the resort’s general manager, said the expansion would allow Coushatta to grow, create jobs and provide a higher-end experience while supporting the long-term future of the Coushatta Tribe. The release further states that the work creates new jobs, increases tourism and supports local businesses across Southwest Louisiana and East Texas, although it does not provide employment or investment figures.
The scheduled opening programme was designed to extend beyond the ceremony itself. According to the release, the May 15 event was to include a ribbon cutting, performances by tribal dancers and a tour of the facilities, followed on Saturday, May 16, by the $300,000 Legacy & Luxury Giveaway, with car and cash prizes. With reservations tied to a May 18 opening date, the Legacy Tower positions Coushatta’s next phase around increased room capacity, a more developed arrival experience and a closer connection between hospitality, gaming and tribal storytelling.
