The cruise line will add new suite and solo accommodation options to Zuiderdam, extending a fleet-wide programme focused on refreshed spaces and broader choice.
Holland America Line has named Zuiderdam as the second ship in its Holland America Evolution programme, outlining a major transformation that will add new accommodation categories and signature venues. The announcement, made on July 14, 2026, included renderings of the redesigned Pinnacle Suite and new Bridgeview Suites. Zuiderdam’s scheduled changes show how the programme is being extended beyond its first announced vessel, Oosterdam, while retaining the ship’s existing spacious format.
The transformation will introduce a reimagined Pinnacle Suite, two Bridgeview Suites, 14 Vista Suites and 32 Solo Verandah staterooms. Holland America Line said the additions are intended to expand the ways guests can travel, including purpose-built accommodation for solo travellers. The new categories sit alongside refreshed accommodation throughout the ship, making Zuiderdam part of a broader effort to update the onboard experience rather than simply add individual cabins.
The Bridgeview Suites will be positioned above the bridge and feature forward-facing views, wraparound windows, a private balcony and separate living and sleeping areas, according to the release. Solo Verandahs will include private balconies and living spaces designed for one guest, while Vista Suites will bring a sitting area, oversized windows and a private verandah to the ship. The redesigned Pinnacle Suite is described as the vessel’s largest accommodation, with a residential-style layout, refined finishes and panoramic ocean views.
Zuiderdam will also receive the Grand Dutch Café, a venue associated with Holland America’s Pinnacle Class ships. The release describes it as an all-day gathering place for coffee, drinks and light food, rooted in the company’s Dutch heritage; the Zuiderdam version will be the largest introduced through the Evolution programme. The combination of new room types and a recognisable social venue gives the update a dual focus on private space and shared onboard activity.
Zuiderdam’s post-transformation voyages were reported as opening for booking on July 30, 2026, while Oosterdam is set to be the first ship to debut its Evolution changes. Holland America Line said the programme will continue across the fleet, with further details and itineraries to follow. For the cruise line, Zuiderdam marks the next defined step in a long-term refurbishment plan centred on extending selected Pinnacle Class experiences to more ships.
