The resort’s Vacation Goals programme combines match-day gatherings, a themed island excursion and a sweepstakes as Curaçao takes a larger place on the travel map.
Sandals Resorts International is positioning Sandals Royal Curaçao around Curaçao’s World Cup summer with Vacation Goals: Curaçao Edition, a limited-time programme built around football, local culture and resort-based entertainment. From June through the tournament period of June 11 to July 19, 2026, the resort will host match-viewing gatherings, themed food and drinks, and informal football activities for guests. The initiative matters because it links a major international sporting moment with a destination experience designed to keep visitors engaged both on property and beyond it.
The programme follows Curaçao’s qualification for the tournament and gives the island’s football identity a central role in the guest proposition. Sandals Royal Curaçao will stage watch parties, install goal posts and footballs for visitors, and serve match-day specials inspired by competing nations with a Caribbean interpretation. Its cocktail selection will recognise host countries Canada, the United States and Mexico, alongside zero-proof options, extending the football theme into the resort’s food-and-beverage offer.
Island Routes, Sandals Resorts’ destination excursion partner, is introducing the limited-time Curaçao Futbòl Culture Tour during June and July. The Tuesday and Saturday excursion departs from Sandals Royal Curaçao from 10am to 2pm, taking guests to Stadion Ergilio Hato, through Willemstad’s colourful streets and to the Chobolobo distillery. Guides will discuss Curaçao’s football history, notable players, cultural traditions and the significance of national pride, while the itinerary also includes a mural photo opportunity and a local tasting.
The wider initiative also includes the Vacation Goals: Curaçao Edition Sweepstakes, open to residents of the United States and Canada until 11:59 p.m. on April 12. The prize is a five-day, four-night all-inclusive stay for two, together with a complimentary Curaçao Futbòl Culture Tour for two. Alongside the guest-facing activity, the Sandals Foundation’s Future Goals programme is extending its community focus, converting plastic waste and discarded fishing nets collected in Curaçao into football goal posts for primary schools.
Future Goals has been extended through 2028 and, according to Sandals Resorts, has so far diverted more than 3,800 pounds of plastic waste and recycled over 2,000 square feet of ghost fishing nets to produce more than 70 goal posts. The programme reaches more than 2,400 children across 80% of the island’s primary schools, adding a local development dimension to the resort’s World Cup positioning. With rates at Sandals Royal Curaçao starting at $352 per person per night, Vacation Goals makes the tournament a framework for combining destination storytelling, hospitality programming and community activity.
