Lopesan Hotel Group has opened three Punta Cana resorts, adding more than 1,000 rooms and a connected mix of family, adults-only and event-led experiences.
Lopesan Hotel Group has welcomed its first guests to Lopesan Caoba Lagoon Resort Spa & Casino, Lopesan Serenity Bay Spa & Casino and Lopesan Splash Cove Spa & Casino in Punta Cana, the Dominican Republic. The three openings represent an investment of more than $350 million and add over 1,000 rooms to the company’s Dominican Republic portfolio. The expansion gives Lopesan four distinct resort experiences in Punta Cana, alongside the existing Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort Spa & Casino, while positioning the development as a connected all-inclusive destination.
The project divides its offer across distinct types of travel rather than presenting a single standard resort format. Caoba Lagoon is centred on water-inspired architecture and a 127-metre lagoon pool, Serenity Bay is an adults-only retreat, and Splash Cove is designed around family travel. Together, the three properties extend the range of guests that can be accommodated within the wider Lopesan complex while retaining access to shared dining, entertainment and nightlife facilities.
Caoba Lagoon has 554 rooms and includes the new Lopesan Convention Center, which is designed to accommodate more than 2,000 attendees for meetings, conferences and events. Serenity Bay has 239 rooms, exclusive dining venues, quieter pool environments and restorative spaces, while Splash Cove has 242 rooms, a wave pool, water-park attractions, sports programming and family entertainment. The resorts are linked by The Boulevard, an open-air promenade with restaurants, cocktail bars, nightlife venues, shops, an 820-seat theatre and a casino.
The configuration reflects a broader operational proposition: guests can select a more specific resort identity while moving through a larger campus with shared amenities. Lopesan says the destination was designed with HKS Architects and its hospitality design division, ROAM, bringing together water-inspired architecture, nature, entertainment, wellness and multigenerational travel. The company also reported that the opening phase created approximately 700 jobs, with more than 1,100 positions expected once the complex reaches full operational capacity.
The opening therefore extends Lopesan’s presence in Punta Cana through scale and segmentation rather than through a single flagship property. The new resorts are pursuing the same AAA Four Diamond recognition earned by Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort Spa & Casino, although the release does not state an outcome for that process. With first guests now received, the development gives the company a larger platform in the Dominican Republic while leaving the individual resort concepts to serve different forms of all-inclusive travel.
