The Miami Beach opening combines pool, beach, dining and private-event services, extending the Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel’s outdoor space beyond its overnight guests.
Chisholm Properties South Beach has opened Solei Beach Club, an 11,500-square-foot oceanfront day club at the Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel on Collins Avenue in Miami Beach. The venue accommodates roughly 75 guests and operates daily for hotel guests, local residents and visitors. Its public-facing format replaces the property’s traditional pool-and-beach arrangement with a Mediterranean-inspired setting of shaded palapas, lounge seating and private cabanas, placing food, drink and bookable spaces at the centre of the hotel’s outdoor offer.
Solei occupies a renovated portion of the historic Art Deco hotel’s grounds, including its reworked pool deck and cabanas. The ownership group acquired the property and rebranded it as a Kimpton hotel in 2011, while the latest renovation created space for the beach-club concept. The result connects the hotel’s pool and beachfront with a venue designed around coastal Spain, combining the setting with a Mediterranean menu and bar programme.
The cabanas are configured as private poolside suites with lounge seating, televisions and access to the pool and beach. Solei also provides 150 beach chairs and umbrellas for rent on the sand. The restaurant serves from 11am to 5pm daily, while the bar operates until 6pm, according to the June 12, 2026 release. Executive chef Gastón Javier Sanchez’s menu centres on shareable, seafood-forward Mediterranean dishes, including raw-bar selections, pintxos, paella and salmon, alongside cocktails and coastal wines.
Opening Solei to non-hotel guests broadens the role of the Surfcomber’s outdoor areas from an accommodation amenity into a separately bookable hospitality venue. Cabanas and private events can be reserved in advance, giving the property several ways to use the same oceanfront footprint across dining, leisure and group occasions. Robert Balzebre, president of Chisholm Properties South Beach, said the project was intended to make an underused section of the property stand on its own as a daytime destination for the neighbourhood.
The project reflects Chisholm Properties South Beach’s stated strategy of reinvesting in the physical assets of its properties to create additional sources of value. The company owns the Kimpton Surfcomber Hotel and oversees its operations and continued reinvestment, while Balzebre is also principal of Balzebre Investments. By placing Solei within an existing hotel rather than separating it from the property, the opening gives the Surfcomber a public beach-club identity alongside its established accommodation business.
