Rather than treating AI and field data as separate functions, the release focuses on connecting automated activity, location information, and operational workflows within the same environment.
One notable addition addresses a growing concern as businesses allow AI agents to interact with operational systems: knowing whether a person or an automated process made a change. Flowfinity now provides a virtual user lookup that identifies whether records were updated by a human or by an AI agent through Model Context Protocol, giving administrators a clearer audit trail for compliance and oversight.
The update also expands the platform’s role in field operations by adding more sophisticated geospatial data collection. Workers can capture geocode-verified location information at the point of work and connect it directly with business processes, an approach intended to bridge the gap between gathering geographic data in the field and using that information to trigger or inform subsequent operational decisions.
For managers, Flowfinity has revised its dashboards and scheduling tools to make day-to-day activity easier to interpret without opening individual records. New chart options add icons, labels, and dimension lines to time-series information, while resource filtering and ordering in the scheduler are designed to make workloads and assignments more visible; lookup fields can also display related information through preview cards and type-ahead menus.
