The Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority is assembling a December programme that links cultural events, public installations, fitness and hotel offers.
The Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority (MBVCA) is positioning Miami Beach’s December programme around a combination of art fairs, public installations, seasonal performances, seaside fitness and hotel offers. The itinerary brings together established cultural events and destination-specific programming, including Art Basel Miami Beach, No Vacancy, Miami Beach, the INK Miami Art Fair and the Miami Beach Holiday Festival of Lights. The approach matters because it presents the city’s holiday proposition as a broad visitor experience rather than a single event or attraction.
Art is central to the programme. No Vacancy, Miami Beach was scheduled to run through December 20, with twelve hotels paired with twelve artists for site-specific installations and $35,000 in prizes allocated through juried selection and public voting. The INK Miami Art Fair was scheduled for December 3–7 at the Suites of Dorchester, where publishers were due to show limited-edition prints, masterworks and new works on paper. Both programmes were described as accessible to the public, with INK offering free admission through registration.
The cultural offer also extends into branded design and public space. The Wolfsonian’s Imaginarium: The Fantastical World of Compass Box and Stranger & Stranger was scheduled for December 3, 2025 through January 4, 2026, with original sketches, rare labels and immersive displays exploring 25 years of whisky packaging and brand design. Compass Box and Bonhams were also due to present eight auction lots, with proceeds benefiting the Wolfsonian-FIU. On Ocean Drive, the Miami Beach Holiday Festival of Lights was scheduled across December 13–15 and December 20–22, combining projection mapping, orchestral performance, character appearances, snow effects and a drone show.
The programme adds a wellness component through the AvMed Orange Bowl Beach Run, scheduled for December 14 along South Pointe Park. The 5K and 10K event was designed for families, runners and fans, with proceeds supporting Orange Bowl Cares initiatives and participants receiving a medal and race shirt. Hotel offers from the Marriott Stanton South Beach and Hilton Cabana Miami Beach Resort provide a commercial layer to the itinerary, connecting accommodation with the wider calendar of cultural and recreational activities.
For MBVCA, the December plan illustrates a destination strategy built around variety: visitors can move between galleries, hotel installations, illuminated Art Deco façades, athletic events and resort stays within one seasonal framework. The authority’s messaging emphasises art, wellness, relaxation and immersion while directing travellers to Experience Miami Beach for locally curated itineraries and limited-time deals. That combination gives Miami Beach a coherent holiday narrative without depending on a single cultural anchor.
