The opening of W Riyadh – KAFD brings the Marriott Bonvoy brand into Saudi Arabia with a design-led hotel centred on dining, programming and social connection.
W Hotels has opened W Riyadh – KAFD, its first property in Saudi Arabia, placing the lifestyle hospitality brand inside Riyadh’s King Abdullah Financial District. The 210-room hotel combines detail-driven interiors, several dining venues, day-to-night programming and the brand’s Whatever/Whenever service. Its arrival gives W Hotels a new foothold in the country while positioning the property as both an urban hotel and a social destination. The announcement was made by Marriott International on July 16, 2026.
The hotel sits within KAFD, which the release describes as a business and lifestyle hub in Riyadh. Its design, by LW Design, draws on Saudi culture through interpretations of Najdi textiles and art, as well as materials intended to reflect desert and mountain landscapes. Geometric textures and Al Sadu-inspired patterns are used alongside stone and veined marble, while the lobby includes a six-metre tapestry by Saudi artist Abdulnasser Gharem. The W Lounge takes cues from traditional gathering settings through circular banquettes and sunken tables influenced by Bedouin firepit arrangements.
Accommodation comprises 210 guestrooms, including 17 suites, two penthouse suites and the W Penthouse. The 390-square-metre W Penthouse has two bedrooms, separate living and dining areas, a kitchenette, office and gym area with steam and sauna facilities. Dining spaces include Sira, which offers a Latin American-inspired menu prepared in an open kitchen with dishes cooked over an open fire, and Beni, an all-day coffee house serving specialty coffee and artisanal ice cream. WET Deck provides Mediterranean-inspired food, private cabanas and poolside seating, while Sahari is scheduled to open later in 2026 as an outdoor lounge for performances and social events.
