A state pageant hosted at the New Mexico casino hotel has sent two contestants to a national competition, linking hospitality with community-focused cultural programming.
OHKAY Casino Hotel has hosted the Miss Swimsuit USA New Mexico competition, with Trinity Winters named winner and Erin Heintschel runner-up. The pair have been selected to represent New Mexico at the Miss Swimsuit USA National Competition, scheduled for October 20–25, 2026, at the Royalton Punta Cana Resort in the Dominican Republic. The announcement places a locally hosted pageant within the wider role that casino hotels can play as venues for community events and public recognition.
The state competition brought together contestants, families and supporters for an evening centred on confidence, personal achievement and community, according to the release. That framing gives the event a purpose beyond the result itself, presenting the contest as a gathering that celebrates participants and their supporters. For OHKAY Casino Hotel, the programme adds a people-focused event to a property whose stated offer includes gaming, hotel accommodation, dining and live entertainment.
Winters is described as an Albuquerque native and recent University of New Mexico graduate with bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Sociology. She has worked as an early childhood educator since the age of 18 and plans to pursue a legal career focused on policy reform and advocacy for women and children. Heintschel is a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, is pursuing a degree in Sign Language Interpreting and entered her first pageant at age 43.
The contrast between the contestants’ backgrounds broadens the announcement from a simple pageant result into a story about varied routes to participation. Winters brings an education and youth-focused professional history, while Heintschel’s account connects health, fitness and accessibility within the Deaf community. The release attributes the event’s significance to OHKAY’s marketing director, Cody Mellor, who said the hotel was proud to showcase the talent, ambition and accomplishments of New Mexicans.
OHKAY Casino Hotel also congratulated the other contestants and thanked the organisers, judges, sponsors and guests whose support, the release said, helped make the event a success. The national competition remains scheduled for October 20–25, 2026, giving Winters and Heintschel a defined next stage after the New Mexico contest.
