Westport Hospitality is opening a 161-room lakeside hotel in Burlington, pairing local development with Marriott Bonvoy’s Autograph Collection platform.
Westport Hospitality has announced the opening of The Harborvale, Autograph Collection, a 161-room hotel scheduled to debut in June 2026 at 25 Cherry Street in Burlington, Vermont. The lakeside property will sit on the shores of Lake Champlain and join Marriott Bonvoy’s Autograph Collection, a portfolio of more than 300 independent hotels selected for their original design and character. The project is expected to bring approximately 100 jobs to Burlington.
The announcement places the hotel within Burlington’s locally rooted hospitality scene while giving it a connection to a global reservation and loyalty platform. The Harborvale’s official site describes the property as being in downtown Burlington overlooking Lake Champlain, reinforcing the location as a central part of its positioning. Westport Hospitality said the project reflects a collaboration involving local investors, design, construction and management.
The Harborvale was developed by Jay Canning and Chuck DesLauriers and is owned by local investors operating under the Burlington Harbor Hotel Group. Westport Hospitality will manage the property, adding it to a portfolio that the release identifies as including Hotel Vermont. The hotel is also planned to include three event spaces with natural light, floor-to-ceiling windows and interiors inspired by the surrounding landscape.
More than 3,000 square feet of dedicated function space, along with an outdoor terrace overlooking the lake, is intended to support a range of gatherings. According to the release, the venues will accommodate intimate events and microweddings as well as larger celebrations and meetings for up to 125 guests. That mix gives the project both an accommodation role and an events-oriented business proposition, without separating it from its regional setting.
For Westport Hospitality, the opening extends a Burlington-based operating model that the company says has focused on Vermont properties since 1998. The Harborvale’s affiliation with Autograph Collection combines that local identity with a recognised independent-hotel framework, while its planned June 2026 debut adds another hospitality venue to Burlington’s lakefront offer. The result is a project built around place, management experience and flexible use rather than a single hotel function.
