The family-owned wellness company is pairing sports nutrition with creator-led experiences as it expands a two-in-one hydration product into a major retail channel.
Sports Research has launched Creatine + Electrolytes, a sugar-free powder drink mix that combines 5 grams of micronised creatine monohydrate with 1,000 milligrams of electrolytes per serving. Available in single-serve stick packs at select Costco warehouses, the product marks the family-owned company’s first entry into Costco’s sports nutrition aisle. The move places a product built around workout support and hydration within a broader everyday wellness setting.
The formula combines creatine with four electrolytes: sodium, potassium, magnesium and chloride. Sports Research says the product is intended to simplify daily training and wellness routines by putting both ingredients into one drink rather than requiring separate tubs or scoops. The mix is sugar-free, comes in fruit flavours and is positioned as an on-the-go format that can be added to an existing water-drinking habit.
The 30-count variety pack at Costco includes Watermelon, Lemon Lime and Tropical Punch, with availability varying by warehouse. A separate 16-count pack adds Red Grape and is available through Amazon.com, TikTok Shop and SportsResearch.com. Creatine + Electrolytes is also described as Informed Sport certified, Non-GMO Project Verified and Clean Label Project Certified, while the company’s existing portfolio includes creatine powders and capsules alongside original and salted electrolyte products.
The retail expansion is supported by Hydrate Responsibly, a social and community-focused campaign connecting product education with music, movement and live experiences. During Labor Day weekend at Country Splash Cabo in Cabo San Lucas, Sports Research partnered with yoga instructors and Diplo for an outdoor session, where attendees sampled the new formula. The company said the campaign will extend into run clubs, boutique fitness, festivals and other live settings through work with experts, creators and athletes.
The strategy gives Sports Research a way to present a conventional sports-nutrition combination through settings associated with broader wellness culture. It also links the Costco expansion to a more accessible consumption format, with the brand’s leadership describing the combined product as a natural extension of its existing categories. For Sports Research, the launch brings retail distribution, portable supplementation and experiential marketing into one proposition without moving beyond the company’s established health and performance portfolio.
