The restaurant chain is pairing a new limited-time burger with returning cheese curds, a sweepstakes and value-led loyalty activity tied to Wisconsin heritage.
Culver’s is introducing the Smoked Cheddar CurderBurger as the centrepiece of this year’s Curdtoberfest, a monthlong programme built around Wisconsin heritage, cheese curds and Midwest hospitality. The burger is scheduled to appear on menus from Sept. 28 through Oct. 11, or while supplies last, giving the chain a fresh product hook for an established seasonal platform. The wider programme also brings back Jalapeño Cheese Curds, National Cheese Curd Day promotions and a digital sweepstakes. Together, the activity shows how a restaurant brand can use a regional food identity to connect menu innovation with a broader consumer occasion.
Curdtoberfest returns for its second year, with the food programme centred on products that extend Culver’s existing cheese-curd positioning rather than moving into an unrelated category. The Smoked Cheddar CurderBurger is described as the brand’s first flavoured CurderBurger since the original debuted in 2021. Its arrival gives the chain a limited-time variation on a recognised menu format, while the accompanying celebration maintains the Wisconsin associations that underpin the event. The approach places novelty and familiarity side by side, allowing returning customers to engage with a new item while retaining a seasonal cue they already know.
The Smoked Cheddar CurderBurger combines Culver’s fresh, never-frozen beef with a crown of golden-fried smoked cheddar cheese. After its availability ends, Jalapeño Cheese Curds are scheduled to return from Oct. 12 through Nov. 29, or while supplies last; the product uses real cheddar cheese with pieces of jalapeño pepper. National Cheese Curd Day falls on Oct. 15, when Delicious Rewards members can purchase cheese curds for $3 during Happy Hour from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. local time at Culver’s restaurants.
The programme also extends beyond the restaurant counter. From Sept. 28 through Oct. 31, visitors to the Curdtoberfest website can play games and enter a sweepstakes offering a chance to win a grand-prize trip for four to Germany, alongside $2,000 in cash, weekly $500 prize packs and instant-win rewards. That digital layer gives the food promotion a continuing engagement mechanism across the month, while the loyalty offer supplies a more immediate incentive for existing members. The combination reflects a coordinated campaign structure built around product trial, participation and value.
Emily Patterson, Culver’s vice-president of marketing, said the celebration is intended to bring people together through food and traditions associated with Wisconsin. The chain’s schedule keeps that message grounded in specific occasions: a new burger, the return of a spicy cheese-curd item, a dedicated food day and a monthlong online experience. For Culver’s, the restrained implication is that seasonal menu development can do more than create a short-term item; it can also reinforce a distinctive regional identity across restaurants, loyalty channels and digital activity.
