The airline has scheduled twice-weekly flights between St. Thomas and St. Maarten, adding another direct connection across the northeastern Caribbean.
Contour Airlines has announced a new direct service linking St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands with St. Maarten, connecting Cyril E. King Airport and Princess Juliana International Airport from October 5, 2026. The twice-weekly route is scheduled to operate on Mondays and Fridays, giving residents and visitors another option for travel between the two islands. The announcement places regional air access at the centre of Contour’s Caribbean expansion.
The service is intended to connect two island economies that already have established family, cultural, business and tourism ties. In the release, Contour said the route would improve regional connectivity across the northeastern Caribbean, while officials in the U.S. Virgin Islands and at Princess Juliana International Airport described expanded air service as important to tourism, local mobility and commercial links. Those statements frame the route as both a passenger service and an infrastructure development for island communities.
On Mondays, flights are scheduled to leave St. Thomas at 11:35 a.m. and arrive in St. Maarten at 12:30 p.m., with the return service departing at 1:15 p.m. and arriving at 2:10 p.m. On Fridays, the outbound flight is scheduled for 12:35 p.m. to 1:35 p.m., followed by a return from 2:30 p.m. to 3:25 p.m. The release states that all times are local and that the flights will use Contour’s 30-seat regional aircraft.
The aircraft are described by Contour as offering additional legroom, complimentary snacks and an onboard service designed to improve the travel experience. The airline also says its wider fleet includes regional aircraft with leather seats and more space between rows, while bookings are available through its website, telephone customer service and travel agencies. Passengers can also book connecting itineraries with Contour partner airlines including Alaska, American, JetBlue, United and Winair.
The scheduled St. Thomas–St. Maarten service illustrates how a regional airline is positioning direct island links as a practical part of Caribbean travel. Contour president Ben Munson said the route reflects the company’s stated commitment to connecting communities and supporting tourism, while airport chief executive Michael Cleaver called it part of the airline’s continued investment in St. Maarten. With flights reported as scheduled to begin on October 5, 2026, the route gives Contour another defined connection through which to develop its Caribbean network.
