The Louisiana resort’s 204-room addition increases accommodation capacity while reshaping arrival, guest access and the property’s cultural presentation.
Coushatta Casino Resort has announced the scheduled grand-opening ceremony for its new Legacy Tower, a 204-room expansion that includes 100 luxury suites and lifts the property’s total room inventory above 1,000. The ceremony was reported as scheduled for Friday, May 15, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the resort in Kinder, Louisiana. The announcement positions the tower as a major expansion milestone for a resort describing itself as Louisiana’s largest casino resort.
The project extends Coushatta’s offer beyond gaming into a larger accommodation platform. The resort’s release says the property has nearly 2,000 slot and table games, including live poker, bingo and sports betting, alongside three hotels, the Dream Pool and Lazy River, entertainment and a golf course. Against that existing mix, Legacy Tower adds room capacity intended to support the resort’s broader hospitality and destination proposition.
The tower has been designed as a new arrival point for the resort, with a dramatic exterior featuring a seven-story LED display. Internally, the development includes a redesigned arrival experience and a connecting lobby intended to centralise guest access across the property. The release also says the interiors combine modern luxury with cultural storytelling, including patterns and textures influenced by the Coushatta Tribe’s traditional basketry.
The grand-opening programme was reported to include a Tribal blessing led by a Tribal Elder, an introduction of Tribal Princesses, partner recognition, leadership remarks, traditional performances and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event is hosted by the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana and is scheduled to bring together Tribal leadership, casino executives, development partners and regional officials. A reception with cake cutting, light hors d’oeuvres and access to the new space was also planned to follow the ceremony.
The resort describes the expansion as part of its multi-year “Bigger, Better Coushatta” initiative, which it says is focused on enhancing the guest experience and creating long-term economic impact. The release attributes potential job creation, increased tourism and stronger capacity to attract regional and destination visitors to the project, particularly from Texas. Legacy Tower was reported as scheduled to open for guest stays on May 18, 2026, making the development both an accommodation increase and a reorganisation of how Coushatta presents the wider property.
