Air Tahiti Nui and Air Tahiti have activated their codeshare agreement, enabling travellers to book international and inter-island flights on a single ticket from June 3, 2026. The arrangement places Air Tahiti Nui’s TN code on selected flights operated by Air Tahiti, connecting the international carrier’s network with destinations across French Polynesia and beyond. The move matters because it brings the region’s long-haul and domestic journeys into one booking process, rather than requiring travellers to arrange separate connections.
The partnership is centred on access to the Islands of Tahiti, including Bora Bora in French Polynesia and Rarotonga in the Cook Islands. Air Tahiti Nui describes itself as the international flagship carrier of French Polynesia, while Air Tahiti operates domestic inter-island services. Their agreement therefore links two distinct parts of the region’s air-travel system: international routes into Tahiti and shorter flights to outlying islands.
Under the arrangement, passengers can book an Air Tahiti Nui international flight from Europe, the United States, Japan or New Zealand together with a connecting Air Tahiti service between Tahiti and their final destination. The release specifically cites Bora Bora and Rarotonga among the available destinations. International sectors are operated on Air Tahiti Nui’s Boeing 787-9 aircraft, known within the airline’s service as the Tahitian Dreamliner, while Air Tahiti operates ATR 72 aircraft on inter-island routes.
The codeshare changes the practical shape of a journey more than the underlying route network. A single ticket can simplify the process of arranging an international arrival and a domestic connection, while the shared flight listing gives Air Tahiti Nui a presence on selected services it does not operate itself. The carriers said the activation strengthens their longstanding relationship and enhances connectivity throughout the South Pacific, claims that remain tied to the scope of the announced agreement.
Air Tahiti Nui’s existing international network includes non-stop service to Tahiti from Los Angeles and year-round non-stop connections between Los Angeles and Paris, according to the release. Its wider operations from a Tahiti base reach destinations in 10 countries and include codeshare relationships with carriers such as Air Tahiti, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Air New Zealand and Qantas. With the new arrangement active as of June 3, 2026, the company’s role in the region is being extended through easier connections to islands beyond the international gateway.
