The acquisition of Sandy Pines Campground gives Streamside a coastal Maine destination while bringing its national operating model to a 40-property portfolio.
Streamside RV Resorts & Campgrounds has acquired Sandy Pines Campground in Kennebunkport, Maine, adding the 40th property to Streamside’s national portfolio. The transaction covers a 46-acre coastal campground completed through a court-approved sale process. It extends the company’s presence in outdoor hospitality while preserving a property whose appeal is built around glamping, camping and proximity to Goose Rocks Beach.
Sandy Pines is located at 277 Mills Road and contains 224 sites across several accommodation formats. The inventory includes 83 RV sites, 46 tent sites, 66 glamping setups — including safari tents, A-frame hideaway huts and glass houses — and 29 seasonal park models. The mix gives the site a broader lodging offer than a conventional campground, while retaining the outdoor setting central to the property’s positioning.
The resort’s amenities include a historic lodge, general store and snack bar, heated saltwater pool, modern bathhouses, playground, fire pits and laundry facilities. Guests can also access paddleboard and kayak rentals alongside curated children’s activities, according to the announcement. Streamside said the acquisition fits its strategy of acquiring experience-driven outdoor hospitality assets in leisure destinations where supply is constrained.
Operational responsibility will remain with Atlantic Hospitality through the 2026 season, and the release said the transition will not disrupt current park operations or existing guest reservations. Streamside plans to support the local team with national operational resources and evaluate targeted infrastructure investments over the coming seasons. In the immediate term, the company said it will focus on preserving the guest experience, supporting employees and maintaining Sandy Pines’ identity.
The deal also reflects the balance involved in scaling destination-based hospitality: adding a recognised property while retaining its local character. Streamside said its portfolio now spans 17 states, with 40 properties and more than 4,400 RV and lodging sites, and includes both its signature resorts and SteadyStays destinations. Sandy Pines therefore becomes another test of how a national platform can pair shared resources with established local leadership and a distinct sense of place.
