A partnership tied to Legend of the Seas will combine onboard fundraising with a family-focused musical production during the ship’s European season.
Royal Caribbean has announced a partnership with Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity ahead of Legend of the Seas’ European debut in July 2026. The arrangement will connect the new ship’s onboard entertainment programme with fundraising and awareness initiatives supporting specialist Roald Dahl Nurses. The partnership is scheduled to begin as the Icon Class ship starts its inaugural European season, giving the cruise line a charitable component alongside its family-oriented holiday proposition.
The partnership centres on the charity’s specialist nursing network, which provides expert care and practical support to children living with complex, lifelong conditions and their families across the UK. The charity says more than 250 Roald Dahl Nurses currently care for more than 50,000 children. Their work includes coordinating care across NHS Trusts and offering emotional and financial support to families managing demanding medical circumstances.
During Legend of the Seas’ inaugural European season, guests will have opportunities to donate onboard, while additional fundraising moments will help support the charity’s nursing network. Royal Caribbean also plans to host Roald Dahl Nurses on a special four-night preview sailing before the ship’s official debut on 4 July 2026. The release said the nurses will be invited to experience the ship’s entertainment, dining and relaxation facilities during the sailing.
The charitable activity is being paired with the Royal Theater production of Roald Dahl’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, described in the release as the musical’s at-sea debut. The Broadway production will headline the entertainment lineup on Legend of the Seas, with Royal Caribbean adaptations incorporated into the show. The arrangement places a recognisable family entertainment property alongside a cause focused on specialist support for seriously ill children.
After its European summer season, Legend of the Seas is scheduled to move to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in November 2026 for six-night Western Caribbean and eight-night Southern Caribbean itineraries, including calls at Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas. For Royal Caribbean, the partnership extends the role of onboard programming beyond entertainment by giving guests a defined way to contribute to a charitable network. Its immediate focus remains the European launch and the nurses whose work the campaign is intended to highlight.
