The partnership embeds personalised itinerary building in Meet Minneapolis’s digital ecosystem, showing how destinations are using AI to turn inspiration into practical travel planning.
Mindtrip is partnering with Meet Minneapolis to add conversational AI trip planning to the destination organisation’s digital ecosystem. Visitors can enter a question, idea or interest and receive a personalised planning experience spanning Minneapolis attractions, neighbourhoods, food, music, sport and outdoor activities. The development places itinerary creation inside a destination website rather than leaving travellers to assemble recommendations across separate services, linking the platform’s travel technology with local visitor information.
The experience is designed to accommodate different types of trips, including weekend getaways, food-focused visits, family travel and searches for the city’s best-known experiences. The platform highlights destinations such as the Mississippi riverfront, the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden, Walker Art Center, Minnehaha Falls and the Chain of Lakes, while also connecting travellers with the city’s music history at First Avenue. It can also support plans centred on sporting events, craft breweries or local food such as the Juicy Lucy cheeseburger.
Mindtrip’s system converts those interests into dynamic itineraries with curated visuals, interactive maps and sequenced recommendations. The company describes its platform as an AI-powered personal travel assistant that helps users plan, book and navigate journeys, while its business offering provides AI experiences for destination, hotel and travel-brand websites. For Minneapolis, the integration gives users a route from an initial idea to a structured itinerary within the same digital journey.
Local input is a central part of the arrangement. The Meet Minneapolis team worked with Mindtrip to develop and refine the visitor information supporting the experience, combining destination expertise with artificial intelligence. That approach is intended to make the recommendations more relevant to Minneapolis and preserve a human element in responses, according to Courtney S. Ries, senior vice-president of destination branding and strategy at Meet Minneapolis.
The Minneapolis integration reflects a broader shift in destination marketing from presenting static lists of attractions towards helping visitors shape trips around their own interests, pace and style. Mindtrip says its business platform already works with destination organisations including Brand USA, The Bahamas, Visit Costa Rica, Discover Puerto Rico and Visit California. For Meet Minneapolis, the partnership offers another digital route into the city’s visitor economy while giving Mindtrip a locally informed setting in which to demonstrate conversational trip planning.
