The Mexican hospitality group marked Mother’s Day across its resorts with activities for members, guests and employees, extending the occasion beyond traditional dining.
Sunset World Group organised a programme of Mother’s Day activities across its hospitality operation, bringing together members, guests and employees for events focused on relaxation, family participation and recognition. The activities included wellness sessions, creative workshops and employee gatherings, reflecting how resort operators can use calendar occasions to shape experiences for multiple audiences. The company reported the programme on May 18, 2026, following celebrations held across its properties.
At the group’s hotels, members and guests took part in activities designed for mothers, including yoga, Pilates, cocktail lessons and dancing lessons. The programme was framed around relaxation, well-being and family bonding rather than a single dining or entertainment offer. That mix positioned the occasion as part of the wider stay experience, with activities available within the resort environment.
Children were also included through creative workshops where they made gifts for their mothers, including keychains, picture frames and flower baskets. Separately, the group arranged special lunches and dinners for employees’ mothers at each of its six hotels. According to the release, those gatherings included music, dancing, entertainment and prize raffles, with the company presenting them as a gesture of appreciation for employees’ professional and personal efforts.
The announcement shows Sunset World using a single cultural occasion to connect several parts of its business: guest programming, family activities and internal recognition. The group said the celebrations supported values including family unity, recognition and well-being, while its broader resort proposition combines accommodation with regularly updated activity and gastronomy programmes. The release also described Sunset World as a Mexican family business with more than 30 years of hospitality experience.
Sunset World operates six hotels in Cancún and the Riviera Maya, according to the company, and said its properties are supplied with clean and renewable energy produced at Mexican wind farms and geothermal plants. Those wider statements place the Mother’s Day programme within a business built around family-oriented stays and resort services. The immediate significance of the initiative is therefore less a new product than a coordinated way to make a familiar holiday part of the guest, employee and family experience.
