The 2025 ARIEL Sauvignon Blanc expands J. Lohr’s alcohol-removed portfolio as the winery targets broader occasions for wine without alcohol.
J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines is adding the 2025 ARIEL Sauvignon Blanc to its ARIEL Vineyards portfolio, extending the family-owned winery’s alcohol-removed offer with a premium white wine. The product is designed to retain the bright, refreshing character associated with Sauvignon Blanc while giving consumers another option for sharing wine without alcohol. It begins shipping in September 2026 at a suggested retail price of $13.
The product expands a category in which ARIEL Vineyards has operated for more than four decades. J. Lohr says the brand brings traditional winegrowing expertise to an alcohol-removed market that is gaining share within an evolving wine culture. The company’s positioning places the new Sauvignon Blanc within a broader effort to create both alcoholic and alcohol-removed wines for a range of occasions.
The wine starts with grapes selected for kiwi and lemon-zest fruit character, natural acidity and varietal expression. The fruit is harvested at optimal ripeness and made using traditional winemaking techniques before the alcohol is gently removed through reverse osmosis, a process Jerry Lohr and his team first patented when launching the tier in 1985. The finished wine contains 21 calories per five-ounce serving and zero grams of added sugar.
J. Lohr’s move reflects a strategy of extending a recognised wine style into an alcohol-removed format rather than treating the category as separate from conventional winemaking. The company cites Adult Non-Alcoholic Beverage Association research showing that 92% of adults who buy adult beverages without alcohol also purchase products containing alcohol. It also reports that ARIEL Vineyards sales rose 16.7% in the 52-week period ending August 8, 2026, according to Nielsen IQ.
The Sauvignon Blanc addition gives ARIEL Vineyards a white-wine expression alongside its existing portfolio and adds another route into alcohol-removed wine for consumers who still want varietal character. J. Lohr’s stated focus on quality, innovation and shared occasions now extends to one of the world’s most popular white-wine varieties. The launch suggests the company sees room to develop the category through familiar grape varieties and established winemaking cues.
