The Anaheim destination honoured its billionth visitor with a family ceremony, underscoring how its original park has become a multi-venue entertainment resort.
Disneyland Resort marked the arrival of its one billionth visitor on July 3, 2026, welcoming eight-year-old Andres Robles and his parents from Arizona at Disneyland Park. The milestone came as the resort continued its 70th Anniversary Celebration, linking a major attendance landmark with a broader campaign around seven decades of family entertainment. The Robles family was treated as the honorary billionth-visitor family during a ceremony at the park’s Main Street, U.S.A., train station.
Robles, who was celebrating his eighth birthday, joined his parents Alejandra and José for the unveiling of a new plaque reading “Population 1,000,000,000”, alongside Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Disney representatives. The ceremony gave the attendance figure a physical presence inside the park rather than presenting it only as a corporate statistic. Disneyland Resort said the occasion commemorated visitors who have made the destination part of family celebrations across generations.
The family then took part in a guided VIP visit that included access to Walt Disney’s private apartment, the newly opened Soarin’ Across America attraction and other special experiences. The release did not disclose a financial value for the visit or provide a detailed breakdown of attendance by park. It identified the milestone as covering guests to both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure, the resort’s two themed parks in Anaheim, California.
The announcement places the billionth-visitor moment within the evolution of Disneyland from a single park into a wider destination. The resort opened its first visitors’ gates on July 17, 1955, and now includes Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure, three hotels and the Downtown Disney District, according to the release. That structure allows the milestone to function as both a celebration of the original park and a statement about the scale of the surrounding resort operation.
Jill Estorino, president of Disneyland Resort, described the billionth visitor as a milestone and a testament to generations of guests who have made the destination part of their lives. The company’s account keeps the emphasis on continuity: a historic park using themed environments, storytelling, technology and entertainment to serve family occasions. For Disneyland Resort, the ceremony therefore closed one chapter of its attendance history while reinforcing the role its original California property continues to play in Disney’s theme-park portfolio.
