Paradisus by Meliá has secured WITT certification for its Riviera Maya resort, formalising a wellness strategy built around destination-led experiences and recovery.
Paradisus by Meliá has announced that Paradisus La Perla, an adults-only all-inclusive resort in Riviera Maya, Mexico, has earned the WITT Certified Seal. The June 11, 2026 announcement makes the property the first within the Meliá Hotels International portfolio to achieve the certification, according to the brand. The recognition places a formal external standard around a resort strategy that treats wellness as part of the wider guest journey rather than as a standalone spa service.
The certification arrives as Paradisus by Meliá develops what it describes as its “Wellness Designed by Destination” approach. At Paradisus La Perla, that model connects relaxation, movement, nourishment, mindfulness and locally inspired experiences, including activities designed to link guests with the Riviera Maya. The property’s expanded wellness concept fully debuted in May 2026, giving the certification a specific operating context rather than leaving it as a purely brand-level claim.
Paradisus La Perla has 393 suites, including 58 swim-up suites, 148 The Reserve suites and two The Reserve Presidential Suites. Its Holistic Wellness Program is organised around four pillars: Move, Nourish, Rest & Recover, and Mind & Connect. The release lists offerings such as Red Light Yoga, Disco Spinning, Reformer Pilates by Technogym, and Breathing & Ice Plunge sessions inspired by the Wim Hof Method, alongside a Longevity Suite featuring vibroacoustic loungers, binaural sound technology, PEMF therapy, compression recovery and red-light treatments.
WITT says its certification process evaluates more than 100 criteria across five pillars: Healthy Eating, Holistic Healing, Nature, Movement and Local Impact. For Paradisus by Meliá, the award therefore provides a framework for presenting a range of existing resort features as part of an integrated wellness offer. Those features include YHI Spa, which has 16 treatment rooms and Mayan-inspired treatments, as well as Wellness Plans covering calm and rebalancing, endurance and longevity, and enrichment and discovery. The resort also identifies partnerships with Technogym, Therabody, Comfort Zone, the Wim Hof Method, BetterMe, SUDA and Knesko Skin.
The announcement positions Paradisus La Perla as a reference point for the brand’s wider wellness development, while keeping the certification tied to one named property. It also reflects how an all-inclusive resort can broaden its proposition through structured programmes, specialist equipment, spa services and destination-led activities without separating wellness from the core stay. For Paradisus by Meliá, the WITT seal is consequently both a property-level credential and a marker of the direction the brand says it is taking across its portfolio.
