The farmer-owned cooperative is extending cranberry beyond traditional holiday occasions with new drinks, snacks and spreads arriving across selected retailers this autumn.
Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. is introducing three seasonal cranberry products designed to expand the fruit’s role across autumn eating and drinking occasions. The range includes a limited-edition Cranberry Cider Juice Drink, Sour Apple Flavored Craisins Dried Cranberries and limited-edition Cranberry Spread. Together, the products position Ocean Spray’s signature fruit across beverages, snacking and meal accompaniments rather than concentrating it solely around holiday traditions.
The new range reflects a familiar consumer-products strategy: use a recognised seasonal flavour in formats that can fit different parts of the day. Ocean Spray describes the cider drink as a combination of cranberry and apple with cinnamon, clove and ginger, while the dried cranberries add bold apple flavour to the cooperative’s sour range. The spread extends cranberry into breakfast, sandwiches and cheese-board occasions.
The Cranberry Cider Juice Drink is intended to be served warm or chilled and is scheduled to be available on Amazon.com, Walmart.com and at select Walmart stores beginning in October. Sour Apple Flavored Craisins Dried Cranberries are scheduled to appear on Amazon.com beginning October 5. Cranberry Spread is set to roll out at select retailers, including Publix and Hy-Vee, beginning in October.
For Ocean Spray, the additions provide three distinct ways to present the same core ingredient: a comforting seasonal drink, a sharper-flavoured snack and a savoury-leaning spread. The cooperative says its roughly 700 family farmers grow the cranberries behind the brand, while Vice President of USA Branded Trinh Le described the products as part of an effort to showcase the fruit’s versatility across more occasions.
The launch gives Ocean Spray a broader autumn platform without abandoning cranberry’s established association with holiday meals. By moving the fruit into cider, flavoured snacking and a jarred spread, the cooperative is testing how far its central ingredient can travel across formats and retail settings. The result is a measured expansion of cranberry’s seasonal presence, led by products rather than a new brand identity.
