SustOleo Embrace combines sensory enhancement, visible skin refinement and fragrance retention in one coconut-derived ingredient for beauty formulations.
Inolex has launched SustOleo™ Embrace, a multifunctional sensory enhancer for skin care, body care and fragrance formulations. The coconut-derived amino ester technology is designed to transform from a lightweight oil into a cushiony finish, while supporting a radiant, smooth skin feel without greasiness. Its development reflects a formulation push towards ingredients that combine tactile performance with additional skin and fragrance benefits.
The ingredient is positioned as a silicone-free option for brands working across several adjacent beauty categories. Inolex describes it as 85% naturally derived, palm-free, vegan, cruelty-free, Halal-certified and Kosher-compliant, with a Natural Origin Index of 0.85 under ISO 16128. The company also says SustOleo™ Embrace is sustainably designed and biodegradable, although its readily biodegradable status is based on EpiSuite modelling.
Performance testing supplied by Inolex focuses on both skin appearance and fragrance persistence. In a controlled in-vivo study, a serum containing 7.5% SustOleo™ Embrace improved dry-skin scaliness by 33% and smoothness by 30% after one application. In a separate 24-hour odour potency test, the ingredient extended fragrance release on skin for up to 20 hours, while a 48-hour test at 50°C recorded d-Limonene loss of 0.79%, compared with 11.01% for a control without a film former.
The formulation proposition is built around a balance of slip, cushion and playtime rather than a single replacement claim. Inolex says SustOleo™ Embrace spread more readily than 350 cSt dimethicone and approached jojoba oil in spreading behaviour, while offering higher substantivity without perceived tackiness or unwanted residue. That combination gives formulators a way to address texture, visible skin refinement and scent longevity through one ingredient, subject to the requirements of individual formulas.
Samples are available through Inolex, alongside formulation details and prototype concepts for prospective users. The product is the company’s second launch of the year following LexFeel® Enhance MB in sun care, and it extends Inolex’s amino ester platform into a broader set of personal-care applications. SustOleo™ Embrace therefore illustrates how ingredient suppliers are packaging sensory performance with measurable cosmetic and fragrance functions, rather than treating feel as an isolated formulation attribute.
