The St. Louis restaurateur will discuss how personal losses shaped her work in a free talk with in-person and online attendance.
The New York Public Library’s Thomas Yoseloff Business Center will host St. Louis restaurateur and author Katie Lee for The Power of Your Story on Wednesday, 18 November 2026. The free talk will run from 3 to 4 p.m. Eastern time, with seats at the library and an option to join on Zoom.
Lee, the founder behind Katie’s Pizza & Pasta, will draw on the experiences she recounts in her book, Unemployable: The Katie Lee Story. She plans to discuss leaving high school, struggling with addiction and going on to build a restaurant and food business.
The talk looks at what founders can learn from the parts of their histories they might hesitate to tell. Lee has described the setbacks she once wanted to hide as experiences that shaped how she built her business. That gives the library’s business audience a personal account of how someone learns to lead through difficult periods.
The in-person talk takes place on the fifth floor at 455 Fifth Avenue in New York. Registration is required, with separate sign-ups for the library and Zoom. Online attendees will receive a Zoom link in their confirmation email.
