Snowmass Tourism and GuideGeek have introduced Scout, an AI travel assistant designed to turn destination information into tailored trip ideas for visitors.
Snowmass Tourism has partnered with GuideGeek to introduce Scout, an AI travel assistant that provides immediate answers to questions about visiting Snowmass Village, Colorado. The tool offers personalised suggestions spanning skiing, off-slope activities, local businesses and travel planning, positioning conversational technology as a new layer in destination marketing.
Scout uses GuideGeek artificial-intelligence technology from Matador Network and is trained on extensive information from Snowmass Tourism. GuideGeek says its platform also connects to more than 1,000 travel-information integrations, allowing responses to combine destination-specific material with broader information relevant to planning a trip.
Visitors can access Scout through gosnowmass.com by selecting the chat icon in the bottom-right corner of the website. The assistant can create a full itinerary, with or without skiing, or respond to narrower requests about mountain biking, local arts and culture, businesses and activities. Its identity is built around a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, a breed associated in the source material with avalanche dogs.
Virginia McNellis, marketing director at Snowmass Tourism, said the organisation’s role is to provide inspiration and information, while GuideGeek helps connect those two functions. She described the tool as capable of handling both broad questions about why to visit Snowmass and more specific requests for a customised itinerary.
The collaboration places Snowmass among destination-marketing organisations using GuideGeek to create location-specific AI tools, alongside Tourism New Zealand, NYC Tourism + Conventions and the Colorado Tourism Office. Matador Network says GuideGeek has more than one million consumer users and supports custom conversational AI for dozens of travel brands and destinations, giving Snowmass a way to make its own visitor information more interactive without moving beyond its existing destination focus.
