UROVO’s SP35 and U100 extend self-service beyond fixed kiosks, giving retailers mobile checkout support and shelf-side product information across the in-store journey.
UROVO has introduced the SP35 Personal Shopper and U100 Price Checker, two retail technologies designed to extend self-service across different stages of the in-store journey. The SP35 supports navigation, scanning and mobile payment, while the U100 provides product and pricing information at the shelf. Together, the devices reflect a move towards distributing digital assistance across the shop floor rather than concentrating it at fixed kiosks.
The SP35 is intended to help shoppers complete more tasks independently while moving through a store. Its features include optional ultra-wideband positioning for locating products, barcode scanning with an auto-scan mode, and contactless payments enabled by near-field communication and SoftPOS technology. UROVO says the combination is designed to reduce manual steps during shopping and support a more mobile form of self-service.
The U100 addresses a different point in the retail journey by placing product information directly beside the merchandise. Its 10.1-inch HD touchscreen can display regular, promotional and member pricing, while optional ultra-high-frequency RFID supports multi-item reads for product lookup and comparison. Presence sensing activates the display as shoppers approach, and the idle screen can carry promotional or informational content.
The two products give retailers separate tools for mobile assistance and fixed shelf interaction, rather than treating self-service as a single-format installation. UROVO’s CTO Zhang Bo described the approach as a way to meet shoppers where they need information, assistance or transaction capabilities, while allowing store teams to focus on higher-value service. The company also positions the devices as helping to handle routine pricing, product and payment interactions with less staff intervention.
UROVO is scheduled to showcase the SP35, U100 and its connected retail portfolio at NRF 2026: Retail’s Big Show Europe from September 15 to 17 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in Paris. The company’s broader portfolio spans barcode, RFID, mobile computing, printing and payment technologies. By combining shopper-facing mobility with shelf-side information, UROVO is targeting a more distributed model of retail self-service.
