The California student travel company has introduced a redesigned digital platform that separates information for teachers, parents and students while strengthening its brand proposition.
GL Travel has launched a new website designed around the different needs of teachers, parents and students researching educational trips. Developed with Digital Silk, the platform brings programmes, destinations and trip-planning resources into a clearer structure, extending the company’s “Go Beyond the Classroom” positioning into its digital experience. The move matters because student travel decisions involve several audiences whose priorities are related but not identical.
The site gives teachers easier access to programme and planning information, while parents can review material focused on safety, value and support. Students, meanwhile, can explore destinations and gain a clearer sense of the experiences available before travelling. GL Travel’s approach treats the website as part of the trip-planning process rather than as a general-purpose company brochure, allowing the business to address each audience without separating them from the wider educational purpose of travel.
The redesigned platform includes a new homepage, an About Us section, and templates for programme and destination pages. It also adds a Resources hub containing planning support, alongside an updated contact and lead-capture experience intended to provide a more direct route for visitors to connect with the company. A redesigned mega menu is built to simplify navigation across devices, according to GL Travel.
The website follows a broader brand strategy created by GL Travel and Digital Silk before design and development began. That work defined the company’s mission, voice and messaging pillars, including the “Go Beyond the Classroom” promise, and those elements informed the site’s messaging, visual direction and architecture. Jeremy Vaa, GL Travel’s owner and chief executive, said the new platform better reflects the personal, full-service experience the company has delivered over time.
For GL Travel, the project represents a shift from relying primarily on personal referrals to giving prospective school groups and families a more structured way to understand its offer online. Digital Silk vice-president Emily Harris said the goal was to give teachers, parents and students comparable confidence in the company’s digital presence and its trips. The site is now live, positioning GL Travel’s website as an active part of how educational travel is explained, evaluated and selected.
