The adults-only Mexican resort has been named an AAA Diamonds Top 10 hotel, highlighting the operational standards shaping high-end island stays.
Impression Isla Mujeres by Secrets has been named an AAA Diamonds Top 10 hotel, adding a prominent industry distinction to the adults-only resort’s luxury positioning. The property, located on the southern tip of Isla Mujeres, is part of Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection and received recognition under the AAA Five Diamond programme. The award matters beyond its branding value because AAA evaluates hotels against standards covering cleanliness, comfort, cuisine and consistency.
The recognition places Impression Isla Mujeres within a hospitality framework based on objective inspection data rather than guest marketing alone. According to the announcement, AAA Five Diamond Top 10 properties receive high scores in areas including amenities, service and cleanliness, with the evaluation process involving unannounced, in-person inspections and potentially anonymous overnight stays. A panel of experts may also review finalists before the final distinction is awarded.
The resort comprises 123 oceanfront suites, each described as having expansive terraces, personal soaking tubs and views of the surrounding turquoise waters. Its offer also includes seven dining venues, a spa with hydrotherapy circuits and open-air treatments, island and ocean excursions, oceanfront infinity pools, overwater hammocks and a four-storey water slide. Through the Endless Privileges programme, guests receive dedicated butler service, unlimited dining and premium beverages, alongside curated culinary experiences.
That combination reflects how the property presents luxury as a collection of coordinated service, accommodation and leisure details rather than a single headline amenity. The release also links the resort’s positioning to its setting and to a partnership with Saving Our Sharks Foundation, through which it engages guests with marine conservation efforts and supports protection of regional ocean habitats. The announcement says the resort contributes a portion of every stay to shark conservation.
Impression Isla Mujeres opened in May 2023 and is accessible by private catamaran, helicopter or ferry, according to the release. Its AAA recognition now gives the resort an external point of reference for the standards it says define the guest experience, while its facilities and conservation partnership continue to frame the stay around privacy, service and the island environment.
