The 12-month agreement gives Expedia Group access to Allegiant’s full network, extending the airline’s distribution beyond its own booking channels and into a broader travel marketplace.
Allegiant Travel Company has entered a 12-month exclusive partnership with Expedia Group, making Expedia the airline’s first authorised online travel agency partner. The agreement covers Allegiant’s full network of 566 routes serving 124 US cities and will distribute those flights across Expedia Group’s US brands. The arrangement matters because it places Allegiant’s leisure-focused network in a travel marketplace where customers can compare flights alongside other trip options.
The partnership brings together an airline built around nonstop connections and a travel platform focused on search, comparison and booking. Allegiant says its routes connect underserved communities with popular holiday destinations across the United States, while Expedia Group says the agreement will make that inventory more discoverable to a broader base of travellers. The companies describe the arrangement as a way to combine Allegiant’s network with Expedia Group’s demand, technology and marketplace capabilities.
For travellers, Allegiant flights will be available through Expedia Group’s US consumer brands, including Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo. The release says the addition gives customers more domestic leisure options in one place to compare and book. Expedia Group also says that, with Allegiant included, its marketplace now offers 100% coverage of US commercial passenger airlines, a claim presented by the company as a significant expansion of its air inventory.
The deal also marks a change in Allegiant’s distribution approach. Drew Wells, Allegiant’s chief commercial officer, characterised the agreement as a meaningful step in the airline’s distribution evolution, while noting that the company intends to retain its focus on affordable, nonstop travel. For Expedia Group, Vice President Golan Shakéd described the partnership as part of an effort to build a more complete travel marketplace in which customers can shop across US carriers.
The agreement therefore links Allegiant’s specialised leisure network with Expedia Group’s wider booking ecosystem without changing the stated 12-month term or exclusive structure. Its immediate significance is practical: routes that were previously associated with Allegiant’s own distribution can now appear within a larger travel-planning environment. The partnership gives both companies a broader platform for reaching travellers while keeping the announcement centred on access, comparison and distribution.
