SeaWorld will bring Sony Pictures’ “I Know What You Did Last Summer” to three Howl-O-Scream events, extending film-based immersion across its Halloween programme.
SeaWorld will introduce haunted houses inspired by Sony Pictures’ “I Know What You Did Last Summer” at SeaWorld Orlando, SeaWorld San Diego and SeaWorld San Antonio during this year’s Howl-O-Scream events. The experience, titled “I Know What You Did Last Summer: The Final Catch”, is scheduled to premiere at all three parks on September 11, 2026. The announcement places a recognisable horror property inside a live theme-park format, linking screen entertainment with seasonal attractions.
The haunted houses are based on the first instalment of the horror franchise licensed by Sony Pictures, while using the subtitle “The Final Catch”. According to SeaWorld, the attraction will recreate several scenes from the 1997 film and take guests into the events surrounding the original Southport massacre. Its story follows a group of friends attempting to conceal a deadly accident before a killer seeks to punish them for their shared secret.
The film-based houses will form part of Howl-O-Scream’s wider mix of haunted houses, scare zones, live entertainment, immersive experiences, themed bars and roller coasters operating in the dark. SeaWorld said the attraction will appear at all three participating parks, making the partnership a coordinated addition across its Orlando, San Diego and San Antonio locations. The release described the activation as the first time the film has been brought to life at a major Halloween event.
The announcement also ties the entertainment concept to a limited-time ticket promotion. SeaWorld Orlando and SeaWorld San Diego guests can access savings of up to 65% on Howl-O-Scream tickets and up to 70% for Pass Members during the Killer Summer Sale, while SeaWorld San Antonio includes Howl-O-Scream with park admission and is promoting savings on tickets, Season Passes and Annual Passes. The specific offer structure differs by park, keeping the campaign connected to each location’s admission model.
Marc Swanson, chief executive of United Parks & Resorts, said SeaWorld was seeking new ways to develop immersive entertainment and described the franchise’s inclusion as a milestone for the three parks. The release reported that the attraction is scheduled to run within the 2026 Howl-O-Scream programme, with the supplied campaign artwork listing selected nights from September 11 through October 31. For SeaWorld, the arrangement demonstrates how a licensed film property can be distributed as a shared seasonal concept across multiple parks without replacing the broader event format.
