Blue Compass RV has acquired Brown’s RV Superstore, adding an established South Carolina dealership to its expanding regional network.
Performance Brokerage Services advised on the sale of Brown’s RV Superstore in McBee, South Carolina, from the Brown family to Blue Compass RV. The transaction transfers ownership of a family-operated dealership founded in 1986 and adds another location to Blue Compass RV’s presence across the Carolinas. The deal also illustrates how specialist brokerage firms are helping independent recreational-vehicle dealerships navigate ownership transitions while preserving their operating bases.
Brown’s RV Superstore has served RV customers for nearly four decades from a 12-acre property in McBee. Its facilities include 31,000 square feet of combined retail and service space, with 20 enclosed service bays, alongside new and pre-owned RVs from brands including Jayco, Grand Design and Brinkley. Those characteristics give the business an established local platform rather than a transaction centred solely on a change of corporate ownership.
The dealership will remain at its current location and will be renamed Blue Compass RV Columbia Northeast. Blue Compass RV now operates 13 dealerships across the Carolinas, according to Performance Brokerage Services, while the wider group has more than 100 dealerships across 31 states. Jesse Stopnitzky, co-owner of Performance Brokerage Services, served as the exclusive sell-side adviser for the transaction.
For the Brown family, the sale involved a business built over nearly 40 years, and Barry Brown said the brokerage process included guidance intended to protect the family’s interests. Stopnitzky described family-dealership sales as complex decisions involving accumulated work, risk and legacy. The comments place the transaction within a particular segment of dealership consolidation, where continuity of location and customer access can matter alongside the change in ownership.
Performance Brokerage Services said it has advised on the sale of nearly 450 dealerships over the past five years and specialises in automotive, RV, marine, powersports, commercial-truck and equipment dealerships. Blue Compass RV’s acquisition of Brown’s RV Superstore gives the larger retailer an additional Carolinas site while retaining the dealership’s physical base. The renamed operation therefore combines regional expansion with a degree of continuity for the McBee business and its customers.
