Western Spirit is adding multi-sport camping itineraries across the American West, extending its guided-experience model to travellers seeking accessible outdoor immersion.
Western Spirit Adventures is expanding beyond its established cycling tours with Western Spirit Adventure Trips, a new range of guided, multi-sport camping holidays across the American West. The itineraries combine activities including hiking, fishing, casual biking and boating with all-inclusive support in remote public lands and national parks. The move broadens the Moab-based company’s offer while retaining its emphasis on professionally guided backcountry travel.
The trips are designed for travellers without specialised outdoor skills or experience, with options intended for different fitness levels. Western Spirit says the itineraries provide a supported way to access hard-to-reach areas of national parks, forests and monuments, pairing outdoor activities with camping and logistical assistance. The trips are available from April through October, and the company is booking for the 2026 season.
The initial portfolio spans several five-day and four-day journeys. The San Juan itinerary combines alpine hiking, the Telluride Via Ferrata, cultural experiences and rafting on the Animas River, while the Redwood National Park trip brings together biking, hiking and floating along Northern California’s coastline and rivers. Other routes include a foot, bike and boat circuit of the Teton range, canyoneering and cycling in the Glen Canyon region, and a Bears Ears South itinerary combining outdoor activities with ancestral Puebloan history and visits to cliff dwellings.
Operationally, the model relies on professional guides and custom support vehicles that carry equipment and supplies. Guides manage camp setup, cooking and cleanup, while guests can either bring their own tent and sleeping gear or rent equipment through Western Spirit. The company also positions camp cooking and campsite support as central elements of the experience, making the trips less dependent on travellers managing the practical demands of remote camping themselves.
The expansion illustrates a measured shift from a specialist cycling operator towards a broader guided-adventure business. Western Spirit has operated guided outdoor trips since 1990 and says its cycling and multi-adventure routes now cover experiences for newcomers as well as more experienced travellers. By adding multi-activity itineraries without removing the support structure around its existing tours, the company is giving its backcountry proposition a wider entry point while keeping the focus on organised access to remote landscapes.
