The year-long sticker map gives passengers a low-cost way to explore California’s coast while adding an interactive layer to regional rail travel.
Amtrak Pacific Surfliner has launched the “Endless Escapes” collectible sticker map, turning a journey along California’s coast into a year-long travel experience. The programme invites Pacific Surfliner passengers to collect 29 limited-edition designs representing destinations, landmarks and seasonal experiences along the route. Announced by the LOSSAN Rail Corridor Agency for World Public Transport Day, the initiative links passenger travel with a simple, physical form of discovery.
The Pacific Surfliner runs along a 351-mile coastal rail corridor through San Diego, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties, serving 29 stations. The service is managed by the LOSSAN Rail Corridor Agency, a joint powers authority involving rail owners, operators and planning agencies across the corridor. Its stated remit includes improving ridership, revenue, punctuality, operational flexibility and safety.
From April 17, 2026, passengers can collect a complimentary sticker map aboard Pacific Surfliner trains, at staffed stations and during selected events. New stickers will be released in limited quantities throughout the year and distributed in the trains’ Café Cars, with designs focused on coastal cities and station stops, notable landmarks, hidden attractions, and seasonal travel moments. Participation details are provided through a QR code on the map and the service’s online campaign materials.
The format gives the rail service a way to make travel more interactive without changing the underlying journey. Passengers can collect stickers as they move through the corridor, while those meeting the programme’s requirements may enter a prize draw offering Pacific Surfliner return tickets, branded merchandise and gift packages. The structure also encourages repeat engagement with destinations served by the line, although the release does not quantify expected participation or commercial impact.
The campaign positions the Pacific Surfliner as both a transport service and a route through Southern California’s coastal destinations. Its messaging describes rail travel as a sustainable and scenic alternative to driving and highlights connections between major locations including San Diego, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo. By attaching a collectible format to those journeys, Amtrak Pacific Surfliner is making the experience of travelling the corridor part of the attraction itself.
