The three-week Rotterdam refit will refresh Queen Victoria’s public spaces, premium accommodation and dining offer ahead of the ship’s scheduled return in November 2026.
Cunard has revealed plans for an extensive transformation of Queen Victoria, with the 2,000-guest ship scheduled to enter dry dock at Damen Shiprepair in Rotterdam from October 17 to November 5, 2026. The work will refresh the Grand Lobby and Queens Room, enhance Cunard Grill Suites and introduce The Pavilion Wellness Café. The announcement places the ship’s refurbishment within a wider effort to update established luxury-cruise spaces while retaining the vessel’s existing identity and service framework.
The planned changes focus first on areas that shape the onboard experience. Cunard says the Grand Lobby will be refreshed to strengthen the sense of arrival, while the Queens Room will be reimagined for Afternoon Tea, live music and Gala Evenings. The release presents those spaces as continuing elements of Queen Victoria’s programme rather than as entirely new concepts, with the refurbishment directed towards their design and presentation.
Accommodation will also form a significant part of the refit. Queens Grill and Princess Grill Suites are set to receive new furnishings, detailing and design treatments, while eight additional Britannia staterooms will be introduced. Three of those rooms will belong to a new Britannia Deluxe Oceanview category, which Cunard says will feature floor-to-ceiling windows and panoramic ocean views. The new staterooms were reported as going on sale on July 20, 2026, for voyages sailing from November 11, 2026.
The Pavilion Wellness Café adds a more specific dining dimension to the project. Queen Victoria is scheduled to become the third ship in the Cunard fleet to feature the venue, following its launch on Queen Anne in 2024 and introduction on Queen Elizabeth in 2025. According to Cunard, the café will serve breakfast, lunch and daytime dining, with a menu combining plant-based cuisine with sustainably sourced meat, fish and dairy.
Cunard says Queen Victoria is scheduled to return to service on November 7, 2026, ready to welcome guests for a 2027 programme spanning the Mediterranean, Norwegian Fjords, Canary Islands and other destinations. The timetable gives the refit a defined operational endpoint, while the range of changes links the ship’s traditional social spaces with suite renewal and a wellness-focused venue. For the cruise line, the project is a targeted refresh of a mature ship rather than a change to the basic proposition built around dining, entertainment and formal hospitality.
